At 10:15am local time we raised the anchor and said farewell to Hooumi and Comptroller Bay and headed over to Taiohae. The wind, while blowing 10-15 in Hooumi is only about 10k outside the bay - the sides of the bay were accelerating the wind I think. Taiohae is only about 7nm away, to the West, and we expect to arrive by 11:30.

We arrived at Taiohae Bay at around 11:30 and anchored next to our friends from Pez Vela - bow into the swells with a stern anchor. The bay is very very large and extremely attractive with a ring of mountains all around. There are many boats here, but unlike Atuona the bay is large enough that it does not feel crowded.
