February 23

It is now 2am and we having 8-10k from the NW and lumpy seas. We are motoring at 2000rpm and making about 5.5 – 5.8k over ground on a heading of 315M. Skies remain clear but cold. We have about 35 miles remaining to the entrance to San Diego harbor. We expect to arrive at San Diego at about 8:30am.

At 8:20am we passed Point Loma and entered San Diego Harbor, the same place the Queen Jane left 5 ½ years ago. We are heading for the customs dock where we will complete entry formalities and then we will move on to the Kona Kai Marina (also on Shelter Island) where we have a slip reserved. We are not sure how long we will remain in San Diego – a lot depends on if we are able to find employment here. If a live aboard slip becomes available in Los Angeles we may decide to move there instead. Time will tell. For now though, the voyages of the Queen Jane are complete.
