July 24

By 10pm last night the wind had steadied at about 10-12k and we shut down the engine for good. We sailed through the night in light breezes from 8k up to about 14k at times. Most of the time we were making 5k but at times we went as slow as 4.5k. By 5am we had a steady 12k and we had to shorten sails to prevent arriving before dawn. We sailed North along the East coast of Huahine and at 8am we turned South along the coast till we came to Tiare Pass. We went in and looked about but could not find an anchorage we liked, though the scenery was incredibly beautiful. The most beautiful tropical isle we've seen so far in the Captain's view.

We went back out Tiare pass and motored South 2 miles and entered the lagoon again using Farerea Pass which opens into Maroe Bay. We took a sharp left after entering the lagoon and went up behind Motu Murimahora. We anchored in 9-12ft water on sand bottom.
