November 19We ended up spending one more day at Goldsmith Island then planned due to windy, cloudy weather. This morning the sun is shining and the wind is light from the East. We raised the hook at about 6:30 and motored out of the bay, raised the mainsail and headed South. We had a decent 10-12k breeze for the first hour and sailed nicely on a course of 175M at 5.5k but soon what little wind there was died off and we motored the remainder of the way to Mackay. We entered the breakwater of the port at about 11am and tied up to the fuel dock to take on diesel. We then moved to a slip and proceeded to head for the supermarket. We plan to remain here at Mackay for 3 or 4 days. We have to get propane and find some charts for the Swains Reef area, a part of the Great Barrier Reef, which we want to visit when we leave Mackay.
