November 25We left Mackay Marina this morning at about 7:30am, a late start considering we have 42 miles to go today. We had planned to leave yesterday, but, the weather was horrible with rain all day. Today it looks a bit better with about 55% cloud cover. The wind is light at 8-12k from the East or ENE. Our goal today is Digby Island where we plan to spend the night and then move on the Percy Islands tomorrow. It is now 10:30am and we have about 26 miles to run to reach Digby. We are in light rain now though it does look like we will come out of it in a mile or two. Around us we can see isolated rain showers to the South and much cloud on the horizon in all directions. The time is now 1:30pm and we have about 8 miles to go to reach Digby Island. The weather is fine and clear with about 25% cloud cover where we are. We can see the line of clouds and rain showers we passed through a few hours ago – since then, no clouds. The wind has died down to about 6-8k and is from the East. We had to roll up the genoa as the wind angle became to tight. We are motor sailing with the mainsail alone almost dead upwind. We should be anchored at Digby before 3pm. We arrived at Digby Island at about 2:45 and anchored promptly in the middle of the bay. The area is in the center of a group of 4 islands with small gaps between giving the effect of being surrounded. There is a slight swell from the NE which is coming in but it is hardly notably and right now we are pointing right into it. We plan to leave tomorrow morning for the Percy Islands.
