December 14
This morning I removed the alternator bracket from the engine and brought
it and the broken-off idler pully to the local boat yard Cabo Yacht Center.
Rather then simply weld the piece back on, we agreed they would replace
the piece which the idler pully was mounted on with a thicker, heavier steel.
The repaired part was reinstalled by 3pm and the engine test run.
This afternoon I discovered that our radar us no longer working. We used it
last on the night of the 12th underway heading for Cabo and it was working
fine. It acts like it has no power - it will not turn on. Of course, first
I will check tomorrow to see if any wires have come loose, etc, then I am
going to try to find a radar tech, but most likely we will do without it
until Mazatlan where we are optimistic we can find a repair technician.
